DETACHMENT
In the context of contemporary art, the contemplation of “DETACHMENT” has never ceased. From challenging established rules to transcending the figurative world and re-examining the very notion of meaning, “DETACHMENT” remains an essential theme in artistic creation. It is both a breakthrough and a reconstruction, a loosening of ingrained perceptions and an exploration of the boundaries of reality.
Breaking free from predefined frameworks and peeling away the surface layers of self-perception, the exhibition "DETACHMENT" brings together three artists from different regions: Jonni Cheatwood (Los Angeles), Issei Suzuki (Tokyo), and MCZ_Thomas (Macau), presenting a collection of 13 paintings and 2 sculptures. Through their distinctive visual languages, they explore the fragmentation and reconstruction, dissolution, and regeneration that emerge from the act of deconstruction.

Born in Sendai in 2001, this young artist's talent emerged early, winning awards in numerous contests. His free-spirited creations captivated audiences, landing collaborations with Adidas, music festival Summer Sonic, and participating in
symposium hosted by Agency for Cultural Affairs. Skillfully merging opposing elements, his one-of-a-kind pieces exude unique curvaceous beauty. His works sold out at solo exhibitions and featured on Fuji Television's "The Night Before Break: Artists of the Next Generation" garnered him public attention, all while he's just a high school junior. Already hailed as one of the promising young artists, his future holds even greater acclaim.
ISSEI SUZUKI captures the moment of attempting to free itself from the limitations of communication as his visual language, a universal and borderless instant, by elevating the contemporary visual elements into artworks. This enables a two-way transmission of consciousness between the viewers and the paintings.
Through adjacent colors and patterns, his works begin to acquire individuality and specific messages.
